Amadour Featured in Netflix Film ‘The Dig’

Amadour Featured in Netflix Film ‘The Dig’

We were surprised and excited recently to spot our beautiful design Amadour on a sofa in new Netflix film The Dig, set in the late 30s. This is an old archival colourway from many years ago that is no longer available, but those bamboo stems and cherry blossoms are unmistakably Amadour! We just love that this vintage fabric was chosen to help create that chintzy English country house look in a period setting.

Amadour is available in linen mix, cotton satin and velvet in a variety of rich colourways.

Veranda, January/February 2021

We’re thrilled that the January/February issue of top American interiors magazine Veranda included EXOTIC FRUITS in the Pomegranate colourway in a ‘Chintz Immortal’ feature, focussing on the history and revival of chintz. You can find us on page 35 of the print magazine as well as online here.

EXOTIC FRUITS is a trailing botanical design taken from an 18th-century chinoiserie archive fragment – available in three colourways, all on 100% linen.

Homes & Antiques, November 2020

Homes & Antiques, November 2020

We are so thrilled that the November issue of Homes & Antiques includes a three-page feature on The Design Archives.

The article delves into the fascinating history of our director Sharon Crowson’s successful family business, Crowson Fabrics Ltd, which was founded by her father in the 1970s and at its peak was selling 10 million yards of fabric a year.

As the article explains, the company’s vast and varied collection of around 5,000 historic designs are now united under the Crowson Archive name, and are all available to license.

Here at The Design Archives we have drawn on this fantastic resource for a large majority of our fabrics, from Tree of Life, Amadour and Tiffany, to Celeste, Grosvenor and the designs in our fabulous new collection Shala.

Thank you so much to Homes & Antiques for featuring us, and to photographer Andreas von Einsiedel and interiors journalist Amanda Harling. You can find us on page 49 of the magazine!

To find out more about licensing designs from the archive and how to access it, please get in touch via email:  info@thedesignarchives.com

The Sunday Times Style, 13 Sep 2020

We are delighted that our Celeste fabric made an appearance in The Sunday Times Style magazine on 13 September in a three-page feature on designer Matilda Goad’s beautiful London home. It’s wonderful to see the rich Boysenberry colourway on a stunning double-ended upholstered chaise in Matilda’s living room.

Matilda has been working closely with House & Garden over the last two years documenting her home renovation, with a series of videos that will be launched next month. We will be keeping our eyes peeled for further glimpses of the fabulous chaise!
